BACKGROUND:
Interior designer, painter and sculptor, born in Monterrey, Mexico
Diana Olga Calvillo de Chapa received the Master of Judge in 1983, furthermore, she obtained the Master Landscape critic in 1985.
She was president of the Judges Council in 1983, and Member of the Consulting Council of the FNACJAC.
She was founder and ex- president of the Association of Artists of Garza Garcia, N.L. Mexico from 1989 to 1990.
Since 1980 she has been an International lecturer. She has received distinctions in Mexico, The United States and South America.
As the founder and first president of the Mexican Confederation of Horticulture, Design and Ecology, in 1995, create the COMHDE Award that is given by the Confederation every two years. She also created a Directory that promoted communication among the affiliated federations, to take care of the natural resources and the preservation of the environment. She did all this with cultural, scientific and educational purposes for the benefit of the community and the national unity, for international projection.

Diana is an artist that has been distinguished for the quality and originality of her Artistic work, and in the way she reflects the Mexican contemporary culture.
Her work is inspired in a mixture of values, where one can find the theme of architecture of northeast Mexico from the beginning of the twentieth century. You can see houses and huts ruined by time, as well as the abstractionism where she mixes elements such as glass and metal that all together give artistic status to this important elements of the Mexican industry.
In her last works you can appreciate her concern for ecology, by using natural materials in her works.
Her artistic work is shown in museoms, national and International Galleries, and also with Private Collectors in Mexico, The United States of America, South America, and Europe, where she has receive awards and distinctions

AWARDS, DISTINCTIONS AND PRIZES
· She is representing Mexico with a monumental urban sculpture, “LA PUERTA”, winner of the 1st place in 1991. It is located in the Hemisphere Park in San Antonio, Texas in the United States.
· In 1997, she received the COMHDE Award for her work as a lecturer in the Art of Floral Design.
· In 1997, she won in Florence Italy the 1st Signalization of Honor in Sculpture, and the Bronze Medal in painting, in the “XII Edizione del Premio Firenze”
· In the year 2002, she won the bronze medal in sculpture in the “XVI Edizione del Premio Firenze”
· She was selected for the “Biennale Internationale D´Arte Contemporanea” in Florence, Italy in December of 1999 and 2001, winning a medal “Lorenzo the Magnificent” for her sculpture “Klon”.
· In the year 2000, she participated in the Exposition” “So Far- So Close in the Castle of Montefiori in Rimni, Italy.
· She is an “Member of the Internacional Commite of the Biennale Internationale D´Arte Contemporaneo of Florence, Italy " since 2001.
· In the year 2001, she participated in an exposition in the “Palagio Di Parte Guelfa” in Florence, Italy.
· In the year 2002 her work “Characters” was exhibited as part of the permanent collection in the Mexican Embassy in Rome, Italy.

· In the year 2002, she was nominated by the International" Who’s Who of Professional and Business Women", to be in the 9th edition of the American Biographical Institute, Inc. as a tribute to her career in Fine Arts.
· In the year 2002 she is included in the" International Register of Profiles," in the 12th Anniversary Edition Publication 2002 of the International Biographical Centre in Cambridge, England, being recognized for her important contribution to Arts.
· In the year 2003, is invited by the “American Biographical Institute of U.S.A” to be the recipientary of the commemorative medal “WOMAN OF THE YEAR” selected by the board International Research , for the dedication to her profession and autslanding example to the community.
· In 2004 is invited to participate in the exposition “Matices y Mitos de Mexico” in the city of Praga of the Czeck Republic, Ostrava and Yesenik in Czeck Republic and Poland, Europe.
· In 2004 " International Visual Artist of the Year". The Internacional Biographical Centre of Cambridge England, awards this excusive testimonial to Diana Olga Calvillo de Chapa, who has made a significant contribution in modern art.
